According to a report from market research firm, Point Topic, by the end of the first quarter of 2010, we had reached 484.97 million broadband subscribers. 50% of the world’s subscribers are located in North America and Europe, while the Middle East and Africa have the lowest number of subscribers.
The percentage breakdown from the report is as follows:
South & East Asia : 26.27%
Western Europe : 24.02%
North America : 20.05%
Asia Pacific : 13.72%
Latin America : 6.75%
Eastern Europe : 6.23%
Middle East & Africa : 2.95%
